Dutch Baby Pancake (German Pancakes)
If you’ve never tried Dutch Baby Pancake, you’re missing out! It’s an oven-baked dish that delightfully puffs dramatically as it cooks, creating crispy golden edges and a soft, center. It’s simple, elegant, and perfect for weekend breakfasts. Served with different kinds of berries such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries over maple syrup.

I love how easy this recipe is and you only need 5 ingredients. It is our family tradition to have Dutch Baby Pancake for breakfast every Saturday or Sunday morning with crispy bacon on the side. I’ve only came across this recipe when my friend Ines shared it on her instagram. I am German and I have never heard of German Pancake before, so I had to give it a try. I was so amazed how easy and simple this recipe is and it’s so quick to prepare. Only a few minutes of mixing the dough in my Thermomix and let the oven do the rest.

Why You’ll Love It:
- Quick & Easy: Minimal prep and simple ingredients
- No flipping required: The oven does all the work
- Versatile: Sweet or savory toppings both shine
- Impressive presentation: That dramatic puff never gets old
Ingredients You’ll Need:

- 1 1/3 cups of All-purpose flour
- 2 Cups milk
- 4 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- Butter to grease the baking pan
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400F. Place a cast-iron skillet or 9X13 inch baking dish inside while it heats.
- Prepare the batter: In a blender, bowl or Thermomix bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. If your using a Thermomix I mixed it for 1 min/speed 4.

- Melt the butter: Carefully remove the hot skillet or baking pan and add 2 Tbsp of butter, swirling until melted and bubbling.
- Pour the batter: into the hot skillet/baking pan.

- Bake: for 20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown around the edges.
- Serve immediately: It will deflate slightly, which is completely normal. Dust pancake with icing sugar and serve with different kinds of berries, such as raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. Along crispy bacon for a sweet savory combination. Enjoy!
