Russian Manty – Steamed Dumplings Filled with Ground Meat

These juicy meat-filled dumplings are popular across Central Asia, Russia, and many Eastern European homes. Manty are similar to Pelmeni which are also dumplings filled with ground meat but instead of cooking them in a broth, you steam them. And the dough is slightly different.

With tender dough wrapped around a savory filling of meat and onions, manty are steamed until perfectly soft and juicy, then served with sour cream, sriracha hot sauce, and curry ketchup. I use my Thermomix for steaming the manty but there is also a steamer pot available on amazon where you can steam them in.

If you love homemade comfort food check out my pelmeni or vareniki recipes that are very similar to Russian manty.
