Ingredients

  • 2-3 Medium Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Sheet Puff pastry
  • 1 Egg yolk (for egg wash)
For the Glaze:
  • 1/2 Cup Powdered sugar
  • 2-3 Tbsp Whipping cream

Equipment

  • 1 Baking tray

Method

  1. Turn on the oven: Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. Prepare the filling: Peel, core, and dice the apples into small cubes and place them in a small bowl. Add 2 Tbsp of sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon, toss to coat.
  3. Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into 6 equal squares.
  4. Fill and fold: Spoon apple filling into the center of each square. Fold over into a triangle and press edges with a fork to seal.
  5. Egg wash: Brush egg yolk over each turnover. Cut small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  6. Bake: Bake at 375F for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with whipping cream and drizzle over slightly cooled turnovers. Enjoy!
