I love to make this dip on the side along a nice charcuterie board with crackers or pita chips. It’s also perfect as a veggie dip for carrots, cucumbers, or bell peppers. You can use the dip as a spread on sandwiches or wraps.

Tips for the Best Flavor:

  • Use soft, fresh dates for a smoother texture
  • Start with less curry and build up it can get strong quickly
  • You can also use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a tangier lighter version
  • Add a pinch of cayenne powder for an extra kick

Ingredients You’ll Need for the Dates Curry Dip:

  • Dates pitted (soft Medjool work best)
  • Garlic
  • Cream cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Curry powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions: Using a Thermomix

  • Blend: In the bowl of a Thermomix or food processor place pitted dates and garlic clove and chop 10sec/speed 5.

Tips & Variations:

  • Make it vegan: Swap sour cream for coconut yogurt or cashew cream
  • Extra depth: Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a dash of cumin
  • Chunky version: Pulse less for a slightly textured dip

FAQs:

  • Can I make the Date Curry Dip ahead of time? Yes! It actually tastes better after a few hours in the fridge.
  • How long does it last? Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Can I freeze it? Not recommended because the texture may change once thawed.
  • What type of dates work best? Medjool dates are ideal because they’re soft and naturally caramel-like.
