It’s made with finely chopped cabbage, sweet carrots, bell peppers, and a homemade dressing, this refreshing salad is the perfect accompaniment to hearty dishes like perogies, cabbage rolls, smoked beef ribs, and BBQ steaks.

This traditional wedding salad is my husband’s favorite salad, I will show you step by step how you can accomplish this delicious salad. I chop the cabbage in my Thermomix for the fastest results but you can also grate it by hand.
Ingredients You’ll Need for the Salad:

- 1 medium Napa cabbage, finely chopped
- 2 large carrots, grated
- 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
For the Dressing:
- 200g vegetable oil
- 200g white vinegar
- 150g white sugar
- 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
- Prepare the vegetables: Finely chop the Napa cabbage into small pieces or use the Thermomix chop bottom. Grate the carrots and dice the red bell pepper.
- Combine all vegetables in a large mixing bowl.
- Prepare the Dressing: In a small saucepan whisk together the oil, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper until the sugar is dissolved.
- Combine everything together: Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss well until evenly coated.
- Rest: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.
- Serve: Toss again before serving and enjoy chilled.
